Bent Nose Pliers |
These pliers have bent noses. They allow you to get into hard to reach areas with precision. You can use them to tighten loop coils, closing jump rings or hiding the ends of your wire.
Chain Nose Pliers |
Used extensively in jewellery making. They are used for opening and closing jump rings, for crimping, holding components and bending wire. Very versatile and most jewellery makers have two pairs - they become your extended hands! |
Crimping Pliers |
Used to achieve a more professional finish on crimps. There are two steps to the process and these pliers are available in different sizes to match the sized crimp you are using. |
Double Flush Cutters |
Is a cutter that creats a neat shear edge to both sides of the wire (no bevel or pinch to one side of the wire). |
End Cutters |
These pliers have blunt-end jaws with blades that are perpendicular to the handles. They are used for cutting wire cleanly. |
Flat Nose Pliers |
Have a wider flat nose for bending wire or staightening it. |
Flush Cutters |
Cut wire quite easily. They do leave one side of the wire shear (flush) and the other has a bevelled edge (or a pinched edge). |
Forming Pliers |
These pliers come in a variety of shapes and are designed to bend, shape or loop wire easily. The picture is only one sort of forming plier available - there are many! |
Nylon Jaws |
Nylon jaws are used on pliers so that the pliers do not damage the wire you're working with. You can even buy replacement heads. |
Round Nose Pliers |
These pliers have round noses. They are used for bending wire, making loops, eye pins, catches and links. |
Super Flush Cutters |
Are easier to use than normal flush cutters as they require less pressure to cut the wire. One edge of the wire is shear (or flush) the other still has a bevelled edge, but it is a lot less smaller and thus less noticeable. |
Wire Twister |
Commercially available device used to twist two strands of wire together. Available in two sizes depending on the size of your hand - one has longer hands. |
