Wire - Aluminium

Coloured aluminium wire is great for wire wrapping, adding colour to your jewellery and for practicing with. It is softer than normal coloured copper wire so can you can use your fingers to get the shape you are after instead of tools! It's also available in a great range of colours and gauges.
Wire - Argentium

Argentium is a variation of Sterling Silver with a higher percentage of Silver. It contains silver (94%), germanium, and copper. Argentium does not tarnish as quickly as Sterling Silver, making it an excellent alternative for those who like a beautiful, bright silver finish. This wire is made in the US.

Argentium has its own stamp available from the trademark owners (registration is required). However, it can also be stamped as 925, as this is a minimum silver content notation.

Wire - Coloured Copper

Wire - Copper

Natural Copper wire is great for practicing your jewellery making techniques or adding a little variety to the colour of your wire projects. Some wires are Raw natural copper, others have a clear anti-tarnish coating. Please check the full details of each product for information on if it is raw (natural) copper or has a clear anti-tarnish coating.

Available in 12ga, 14ga, 16ga, 18ga, 20ga, 21ga, 22ga, 24ga, 26ga, 28ga and 30ga.
Wire - Fine Silver

Fine Silver contains 99.9% Silver. It is a classic of the jewellery making industry and used in many different ways. It can be fused, soldered, hammered, shaped and wrapped in a variety of ways. This wire is made in the US.

Wire - Gold (Solid)

Gold is a beautiful metal that has a timeless look and a warm feel. We stock 10K and 14K solid gold wire.

All of the Gold wire is made in the United States and conforms to all ISO standards. K refers to the purity of gold content. Pure gold is 24K or 99.9% gold and usually too soft for most jewellery items. Gold is mixed with other metals to form alloys making it more useable for use in jewellery. The amount of gold in each alloy is represented by a karat value.

10k is the equivalent of 10/24 or 41.7% gold content and approximately 58.3% Silver with traces of Copper.

14K is the equivalent of 14/24 or 58.3% gold content and approximately 41.5% Silver with traces of Copper.

The higher the Karat the more gold content and the softer the metal.
Wire - Gold Filled

Gold Filled wire has a brass core with a layer of 14Kt Gold bonded to the outside using heat and pressure. Gold Filled wire is very similar to the old style rolled gold (slightly different manufacturing process) and is also referred to as gold overlay. Gold filled wire will wear like gold, it will not flake or rub off like gold plating it also makes the wire tarnish resistant. Gold Filled wire is a great alternative to solid gold as it is so much more affordable but looks and wears like solid gold. It is available in Yellow and Rose Gold Filled. We only stock 14kt Gold Filled wire made in the US.

Wire - Jewellers Bronze

Jewellers Bronze is also known as Merlin's Gold or Red Brass. It has a true gold colour is soft and easy to shape. It is made up of 85% Copper and 15% Zinc. Jewellers Antique Bronze wire is a great colour match option for vintage, steampunk and distressed styles, it is made up of 85% Copper and 15% Tin.
Wire - Nickel Silver

Nickel Silver is also known as German silver. It has the look of sterling silver with a slight golden brass look. It is made up of 65% Copper, 18% Nickel and 17% Zinc.
Wire - ParaWire™

This category contains all of the wire made by the US company ParaWire™. Many different copper-based wires are available. The process used for both of the metallic and Silver Plated colours gives a very bright, tarnish resistant product available in many different colours. One of the very few companies that offer coloured copper wire in different shapes - Square, Twisted Square and Half Round. ParaWire™ is made in the US.

The metallic colours feature a 99% pure copper core with a tinted, flexible coating that is baked-on and gives a great colour and an anti-tarnish coating. The natural colour wire has a copper core wire with a clear anti-tarnish coating.

The Silver Plated colour range have the same 99% pure copper core, which is plated with a layer of fine silver. Over this plating is applied a tinted, flexible coating which is baked-on and gives a tremendous shiny colour and an anti-tarnish coating. The Silver coloured wire has a clear anti-tarnish coating applied (no colour).

In addition to round wire, there is also Square, Twisted Square and Half Round coloured copper wire available. These unique shapes are available in a select range in 18ga or 21ga only.

Please note that not every colour is available in every gauge.
Wire - Silver-Filled

The Fine Silver filled wire is made in the US and has a minimum Silver content of 10%. The Half Hard tension has a brass core. The Dead Soft tension has a copper core. The layer of the Fine Silver allows the wire to be shaped, lightly hammered, polished and even lightly engraved without exposing the core.

Silver-filled is a very cost-effective wire to use for a Silver finish without the cost. You can also patina this wire.

Wire - Silver Plated

This category contains wire that is Silver plated. It may be have a copper core or a brass core, but it is silver plated on the outside and is finished with a clear anti tarnish coating.
Wire - Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel is a very versatile wire that is stronger than Gold Filled and Sterling Silver. It is great for those wire designs that need to bear weight. Keep in mind that this a naturally hard material, so Dead Soft Stainless Steel is naturally harder than Half Hard Copper.
Wire - Sterling Silver

Sterling Silver contains 92.5% Silver with 7.5% copper. It is a classic of the jewellery making industry and used in many different ways. It can be soldered, hammered, shaped and wrapped in a variety of ways. This wire can be stamped with 925 as this is the minimum silver content. Also, be aware that this wire is made in the US from recycled or reclaimed materials.

Wire - Tinned Copper

Tinned copper made by Artistic Wire®. The wire has a copper core and is then coated in a base alloy of "tin". This coating has a silver look and does not patina like bare copper. It may darken over time but does not usually rust or corrode.
Beading Wire

All wire in this category is designed to be used as Beading wire or Tiger Tail as it is commonly known as. It is multiple strands of stainless steel wire which is then coated resulting in a nice smooth flexible wire. Use with Crimp beads to finish your length and hold your beads securely.
